Locals in the town of Drogheda, Co Louth have been posting on social media over the past few days that they saw a Dolphin swimming in the Boyne through the town.

It’s since been confirmed that the sightings have been real and that they’re of a bottlenose dolphin nicknamed ‘Kevin Costner’ who actually was first discovered in the Shannon Estuary in Co. Clare 28 years ago.

He’s swam the whole way up to the ancient town from coast to coast.

Locals hope that the visitor stays put and becomes a tourist attraction similar to that of Fungi in Co Kerry.
