A demonstration in front of Dublin’s International Protection Office (IPO) is scheduled to demand that the government assist destitute asylum seekers, reports Breaking News.

Dozens of asylum seekers have been forced to sleep in a temporary camp in the vicinity of the Mount Street office in Dublin 2.

Joining the demonstration are United Against Racism, Social Rights Ireland, and the End Direct Provision action group, which is requesting that the government open vacant properties to destitute asylum seekers, reports Breaking News.

Social Rights Ireland stated on social media that “the housing crisis is [government] policy.”

“We need wraparound services to support our Irish homeless, not just emergency accommodation. Ireland also has long history of emigration. People have left their countries out of total desperation, leaving family and kids,” the post added, reports Breaking News.
