Pub owners come up with an ingenious way of getting around the 90 minute rule and drinking for as long as you like!

Let’s face it, who goes to a pub and brings their stopwatch with them?!

Wives have been trying to get their husbands to leave pubs for years with no success… but now new regulations are seeing pubs across Ireland, the UK and beyond having to pull pints a little differently.

There’s a new 90 minute rule being applied in Ireland where people can only have a drink and food for a maximum of an hour and a half before they’ve to leave. All that and possibly still having to remain at least 1 metre from other people, maybe even 2 metres!

In the UK, pubs still aren’t even being given these options and mightn’t open until July.

However, one clever idea has gone viral and could see a pub ‘open’ and ‘serving’ much sooner than that.

The owners of ‘The Rose and Crown’ pub in Welling, South East London have decided to ‘put their pub up for sale’ – but there’s a catch!

‘Viewings’ are from 11am until 11pm with no appointment necessary – the only thing “potential buyers” must do is buy a pint upon entering their viewing.

Father and son owners Rob and Kevin Latta told The Liberal that they’ve already had a lot of interest from “potential buyers” who say they’ll need a few hours in the pub to fully check out what’s on offer.

There’s no time limit for viewings and friendly staff will ensure that potential buyers are “fully hydrated” should they want to see different parts of the pub, including the nice outdoor seating where they can contemplate the sale with another beverage or two for as long as they like!
