Public left angered as no flights get cancelled, no ports close and no specific details of where Belfast coronavirus patient travelled

It’s been described as completely irresponsible. The Department of Health has confirmed that everyone who has been in close contact with a woman diagnosed with coronavirus has been traced, notified and alerted that they’re in risk, but has not given any specific information as to else may have come in contact or close proximity to the patient.

It’s now understood that the patient in isolation with coronavirus in Belfast’s Royal Victoria Hospital is a woman who travelled through Dublin Airport on her way home to Northern Ireland from northern Italy and was accompanied by a child.

It’s believed at this stage that the child is thankfully not displaying any symptoms. They both travelled from northern Italy back to Belfast via Dublin airport.

No updates have been given on the state of the patient’s health – with quite literally the entire country praying that she recovers.

However, many on social media have been condemning the lack of HSE support and public announcements in relation to what they believe to be a national health crisis.

As of this time, no flights have been cancelled and no ports have been closed – meaning that anyone can still enter Ireland from any infected area and no one can stop them.
