Questions raised to LGBTQI2SA+ marketing by State-funded agencies as commercial companies drop marketing to LGBTQI2SA+

It has been noted this year that in the UK, many private commercial brands who previously marketed to the LGBTQI2SA+ community have stooped their campaigns for 2021.

McCain Chips is one brand that has decided to focus on disabilities rather than LGBTQI2SA+ this year. There are many others who have also decided to ease up on the pink marketing.

However, the same cannot be said of Ireland.
This week we saw Permanent TSB embroiled in a possible fraud controversy when they changed their app logo for the gay colours.

And today, marketing emails are being sent by State funded An Post to their customers marketing their new LGBTQI2SA+ merchandise and stamps. 100% of Proceeds of merchandise sold is going exclusively to the gay community.

According to the An Post email “Every day, An Post help thousands of people to send love to each other. This pride celebrate with our new Bród stamps — that’s pride as gaeilge.”
“Each booklet contains 5 stamps, 4 National stamps and 1 International stamp, so you can send bród both near and far. With every booklet sold, we will be donating* to LGBT Ireland & BeLonG To, who work all year round supporting LGBTQIA+ communities across Ireland. You can also shop our Bród collection of T-shirts, Pins and framed collectable with 100% of all sales going to BeLonG To and LGBT Ireland”.
