Defending champion and former world number one Rafa Nadal looked a shadow of himself this morning in the Australian Open in Melbourne.
The 38-yr-old could barely find a decent serve or forehand throughout the match.
A second set hip injury added to his drastic performance, which saw him ultimately lose to American Mackie McDonald 6/4 6/4 7/5.
The worn out Nadal looks all but retired, with even Andy Murray looking in far better form following his victory in the first round.
Meanwhile unvaccinated Novak Djokovic flew through his first round and looks like a real contender to pick up his 10th Australian Open title.
Many believe the only reason Nadal won the tournament in 2022 was because Djokovic wasn’t allowed play due to his vaccine status.
Either way, he’s back and the tables have certainly turned for the unvaxxed Serbian.
