Forget Katie Taylor, Tyson Fury, Andy Ruiz Jnr, Deontay Wilder, Anthony Joshua, and ooohh Derek Chisora,for a minute, there’s a fella from the 90s making waves in the boxing world today.
Arguably one of the best British boxers of all time, Nigel Benn is BACK! This is not a drill, the 55-yr-old ‘retired’ boxer is going to get into the squared circle one last time to lay it all out in there.
In the mid 90s, boxing was absolutely explosive with the likes of Chris Eubank, Steve Collins and the one and only Nigel Benn.
Benn, 55, recently shared a video on his social media showing him training ahead of a comeback, ended with him stating: “20 years. I’m back. I’m ready. One more time. I feel good. See you soon.”
Well today it’s been confirmed. Benn held a press conference in London saying that he’s confirmed to fight on November 23rd against 40-yr-old Sakio Bika in a full 12 round bout.
It’s either crazy or super exciting, depending on which side of the fence you see yourself standing on.
Benn has a massive fan base to this day and is truly considered a great of the sport, but hopefully it’s a genuine ‘closure’ fight he wants and that he’s not just doing it for the money.
