Recent study conducted by leading scientists shows people could greatly improve their health by giving up alcohol even for just one month




According to a recent study conducted by scientists at the University College London it is believed that people can greatly improve there health by giving up alcohol even for just one month.

The extensive research found that both men and women in their 40s could experience a better quality of life by ditching the booze for solitary month at least, scientists say people could experience a number of advantages to their health after they conducted a controlled study with a group of participants who had been drinking an average of 29 units of alcohol a week. The research apparently shows that a significant number of people experienced weight loss, improved quality of sleep as well as an ability to concentrate better, whilst the study also found that “liver stiffness” (liver scarring or damage) had reduced by 12.5 %. Meanwhile the extensive research also found that the participants insulin resistance was also significantly reduced by 28%, which in turn lowered there chances of developing type diabetes in the future.

The study has been deemed a success by co author Professor Kevin Moore, who highlighted the significance of how important the findings were when speaking to the Press Association, saying: “if you took a drug that reduced blood pressure and improved cholesterol and insulin resistance it would be a blockbuster drug that would be worth billions”. Professor Moore added that more work should be done to promote the benefits of abstinence, giving the recent findings
