The recently-appointed Taoiseach Micheal Martin is set to address the nation this evening.
Mr. Martin is expected to address the reopening of pubs and the so-called ‘Green List’, among other issues.
It is understood that Cabinet ministers will meet today to decide whether or not Ireland can move to Phase 4 of lockdown easing.
Covid-19 is currently surging across Europe, and multiple sources have warned that reopening pubs and clubs early is ‘risky’ and could lead to a ‘dramatic spike‘ in infections.
