Footage has surfaced from way back in 2013, where Andrew Jones, a religious education teacher at Caldicot Comprehensive School in Gwent was filmed in class grabbing a life-size cut-out of the Pope during a viral “Harlem Shake video.”
Mr Jones allegedly “simulated sexualised actions” in the video beside his pupils who were using “model penises” taken from the schools family planning training kits and simulating sexual action” during their version of the internet craze reports the Metro. The video was then posted by a pupil onto the internet.
Mr Jones was subsequently suspended from his position and now faces an Education Workforce Council (EWC) hearing. Mr Jones denies denies unacceptable professional conduct ‘in each and every allegation’.
The Education Workforce Council hearing in Cardiff continues and involves other concerns that the school authorities have with Mr Jones conduct.
