A suicidal mother took her little daughter out to get some pizza to celebrate her birthday and then shot the girl before shooting herself, police believe. Kanisha Richardson took her daughter Ava to a Chuck E Cheese in Bridgeton, Missouri for a birthday party scheduled for earlier this month. The mother and daughter were last seen alive last Monday and reported missing by a relative on Wednesday.
Their bodies were found in a parked car near a gun on Saturday, and police investigator Major Mark Mossotti told St. Louis Post-Dispatch:
‘Everything points to a murder-suicide.’
Relative Niki Harris took to Facebook in the wake of the tragedy to reveal that Ava had been due to spend Monday – the day of her fourth birthday – at Walt Disney World in Florida. Announcing a vigil on her Facebook profile Monday, she wrote: ‘FAMILY & FRIENDS WE WILL CELEBRATE AVA’S 4TH BIRTHDAY TODAY AT CHUCK E CHEESE (SOUTH COUNTY) WHERE HER MOM LAST TOOK HER TO HAVE FUN.’
