Authorities have confirmed that two of the people who were found alive inside a container bound for Rosslare Port in Ireland are children. Their ages have not been disclosed.
The 16-strong group had found their way into a container carried by a truck to Cherbourg in France, where they boarded a ferry bound for Rosslare. Ship crew members detected the migrants’ presence after hearing banging noises coming from the container.
All sixteen people, believed to be Kurdish, were in relatively good health.
