The government is to meet today to discuss the Chief Medical Officer, Dr Tony Holohan and NPHET’s advice and recommendations as to what they think needs to be done in relation to the most recent covid numbers.
All expectation is that the cabinet will decide to lockdown the hospitality sector yet again as soon as St Stephen’s Day with gastro-pubs and hotels possibly staying open until December 30th.
The CMO is said to be extremely concerned and troubled with the latest covid figures and it’s understood that he’s made his feelings known to Micheal Martin, Leo Varadkar and Eamon Ryan.
The Irish public will hear later today as to what restrictions will be re-imposed.
