Russia Today reports that as many as 15,000 Boers, white South African farmers that are descended from Dutch Settlers who arrived in what is today South Africa centuries ago, are to seek refuge in Russia amid rising violence targeting the white population in the country.
RT goes on to report that each family will contribute $100,000 dollars to lease land from the Russian government to farm on if granted permission to settle in the vast country.
The South African government of President Cyril Ramaphosa plans to expropriate the white owned land without compensation according to South Africa’s News 24. Boers, the Dutch word for farmers, have lived on and farmed land in the country since the mid-1600’s.
The UK’s Independent reports that Afrikaner activists have compiled statistics showing that on average at least one white South African farmer is murdered in a farm attack ever week.
The targeting of white South Africans, particularly white farmers for attacks, including, beating, raping, torture and murder has become increasingly common in recent years with Australian Home Affairs Minister Peter Dutton also offering to fast track visa applications from White South African farmers according to news.com.au.
