A savage heatwave continues Down Under, as temperatures are expected to soar to record highs of 47C.
Averages of almost 41C were recorded across the country on Tuesday, prompting officials to issue a number of health warnings.
Meteorologists say that temperatures are likely to peak at 47C in the small outback town of Oodnadatta in South Australia by tomorrow. This location still holds the record of the highest temperature ever recorded in Australia at 50.7C back in 1960.
