The hashtag #sayhisname is trending on Twitter after major media outlets in the US and internationally refused to cover the tragic story of a 5-year-old white child who was shot at point blank range while riding his bike by a black man and killed.
The murder, which was described by witnesses as an âexecutionâ took place in a neighbourhood in North Carolina.
25-year-old Darius Sessoms was described by witnesses as leaving his home and running up to 5-year-old Cannon Hinnant and allegedly shooting him after pressing his pistol against the little boyâs head in front of 7- and 8-year-old sisters.
It was reported by the Daily Wire that CNN, NBC, CBS, ABC, New York Times, NPR, The Washington Post, and MSNBC have all so far refused to cover this story while it has been asked by commentators on social media – what would their reaction be if a 5-year-old black boy had been executed by a white man while innocently riding his bike in his own neighbourhood.
