The Black and Tans may no longer be in Ireland, but some requirements appear to be nearly as bad.
Dr Tony Holohan’s team have recommended that children from the age of 9 onwards wear face masks for 7 hours a day while they’re in school.
It’s understood that face masks are not legally enforced but that they’re required, says the government – make of that what you will.
Children with medical exemptions, breathing and other difficulties will be medically exempt.
However, it’s been confirmed that schools will have the power to turn children back at the school gate if they refuse to wear a mask and are not exempt.
Essentially, children who do not want to wear a mask or their parents don’t want them to wear a mask then they’ll be told to go home and that they’re not welcome in school.
