A woman who was involved in one of the country’s most notorious crimes could be released from prison by the end of the year.

According to the Irish Mirror, Charlotte, Mulhall, one of the infamous “Scissors Sister” has been granted a number of day releases already. The 37-year-old has served 16 years for the killing of Farah Swaleh Noor, her mother’s partner.  He was killed in 2005 when Charlotte and her sister Linda killer Noor and chopped up his remains before dumping them in the Royal Canal and taking his head on the bus to Tallaght.

Linda Mulhall has already been released after serving 15 years for manslaughter.  Their mother Kathleen was also jailed in 2009 for impeding the investigation.

If Mulhall continues to engage positively with the authorities, and remains on good behaviour, she could be granted further releases and eventually temporary release.  This would mean that she would be able to stay out of jail and to simply sign on regularly.  If she  committed a crime then she would have to return to jail.
