Ireland’s Six Nations dreams have been kept alive after Johnny Sexton scored a superb drop goal in the dying seconds to give Ireland a 15-13 victory in Paris.
In a game Ireland were expected to claim victory, they were made sweat as a stubborn France held firm in an absorbing contest in the Stade de France.
Ireland who were left reliant on the boot of Sexton, managed to squeeze a vital win after Sexton scored a drop goal in the dying seconds to break French hearts.
It seemed that Sexton’s four previous penalties were not going to be enough as France’s Teddy Thomas scored the games only try to give them an 13-12 going into the final five minutes.
However after an amazing restart from a missed French penalty, Ireland managed to work themselves into a position after completing a 41 phase move to setup Sexton to slot over and claim victory.
