Ranking high in a dismal track record of failures, the most shameful indictment of this failed Government is the current level of homelessness among children living in the State.
Up to 2,500 minors are expected to be homeless this Christmas, as a result of years of utter disdain by successive governments on the issue of homelessness.
This time around, the blame lies squarely with the department led by Fine Gael’s Simon Coveney, who despite plenty of soundbites and promises to the contrary, has done nothing positive.
As a result, thousands of children will remain without a home this Christmas.
