Shocking: Tallaght Hospital reports patients presenting with severe sunburn and constipation due to the heatwave

It’s understood that Tallaght University Hospital in Dublin has reported that a number of patients presenting at their emergency department have severe sunburn while others have chronic constipation due to the heatwave.

According to RTE News, Dr Jim Gray has said that patients presented having sunbathed and not worn tops while out in the sun while others were workers, presumably people who worked outside in the sun.

Dr Gray also said that the department had an increased number of people presenting with chronic constipation due to dehydration having not drank enough in the hot weather.

He said that people need to wear factor 50 sunscreen, apply it every two hours, wear sunglasses, a hat and go easy on alcohol. He said it’s extremely important to sip water constantly during the heatwave to avoid dehydration.
