It’s been a relatively calm and settled winter so far, weather wise at least, when compared with the fury of last year’s winter storms.
However, Met Eireann has today issued a status yellow warning for the latter part of this week, and into Christmas weekend.
According to the national forecaster, stormy conditions may hit the country on Friday, with northern and western areas most at risk.
If these predictions come to pass, the travel plan of many may be disrupted.
And while some snow may fall on higher ground, the chance of a general White Christmas is almost nil.
