Substitute teacher claims she was let go from her job for not meowing back to a student who said they identify as a cat

A substitute teacher has claimed that she was let go from her job for not meowing back to a student who identified as a cat.

According to PJ Media, the teacher posted a TikTok video in which she claimed that she was sacked from her temporary job for failing to meow back at a student who allegedly identifies as a cat.

In the TikTok video, the teacher said that she was taking the roll call in the classroom to see who was there and who was absent when she heard a “meow”.    When she turned around, a girl told her that she had to meow back to the student as he identified as a cat.  The teacher didn’t think she was serious and jokingly asked if there was a litterbox in the room and one of the students stormed out of the room.

The woman claims that when she went to the school office at the end of the day to sign out, she was told that her services wouldn’t be needed anymore if she couldn’t identify with all of the children in the classroom.
