
A court has heard that a gang of young people who smashed a teenager’s fingers in south county Dublin warned him not to mess with boys from their school ever again, reports Breaking News.
Luke Daly, 23, one of the gang of criminals, entered a guilty plea to simple assault on December 7, 2019, at Rock Road, Blackrock, County Dublin, and his sentence was postponed.
One of the ten or twenty young people who attacked the victim in what the court stated “may have been a case of mistaken identity” was Daly, of Booterstown Avenue, Booterstown, County Dublin.
Daly acknowledged taking hold of the victim’s coat and yanking him to the ground. Gardaí, however, was unable to claim any involvement in the striking or kicking, reports Breaking News.
After leaving a house party, the victim was kicked by some of the teenagers and suffered three cracked fingers while walking home with the Dart.

Daly was given an injunction on Wednesday at Dublin Circuit Criminal Court to maintain peace and good behaviour until his sentencing in April of next year.
Judge Orla Crowe stated that the crime would have required a two-month term, but she planned to close the case in accordance with Criminal Justice Act Section 100, reports Breaking News.
In addition, Daly was mandated to reimburse the victim for the €3,000 he had provided as an expression of regret.
The victim in this case, according to Judge Crowe, was “entirely innocent and blameless” and really shouldn’t have been attacked.
Police Eoin O’Mahony informed prosecutor Alison Fynes BL that the victim attended a house party in Booterstown that evening before leaving to visit Domino’s Pizza with a few pals and his girlfriend, reports Breaking News.
The victim said to the gardaí that, just after 11 o’clock at night, he saw a gang of ten or twenty boys following him while he was taking his fiancée and two other companions to the Dart station.
A few people approached his pal and said, “Can we talk?” and hauled him down to the floor.
After running to assist his companion, the victim said a boy chased after him, pushed him to the ground, and a group of people started kicking him in the ribs, reports Breaking News.
