Teenager has his car stolen after meeting two ‘prospective buyers’ through website

The young man arranged to meet two people whom he thought were interested in buying his vehicle, after he put it up for sale through the DoneDeal site.

They all met at the car park of the Lidl store on Longmile Road on Sunday last. After chatting about the car, the seller agreed to go on a test drive with the two men, and that’s when their true intentions were revealed. They held a knife to the man’s throat and forced him out of the car, taking his phone also in the process.

One of the robbers is described as “black with a Dublin accent” and the other of “eastern European descent”.
