New research conducted by the Residential Tenancies Board (RTB) has found that the national median monthly rent is now €1,300, while the median deposit is €1,000, reports Breaking News.
This marks an increase of €300 since the last study conducted in 2019/2020.
The survey of renters revealed that 31% of respondents experienced an increase in their rent since they began their tenancy, reports Breaking News.
Of the 69% who reported no increase in rent, half had been renting for five years or more.
Moreover, those who experienced a rent increase reported that it had occurred within the last 12 months.
Despite the rise in average monthly rents, 93% of those surveyed said they had been able to pay their rent on time over the preceding 12 months, reports Breaking News.
