The funeral of Cork woman Paula Canty has taken place today.

Crowds heard how she was a lovely, friendly person who was very kind to all who knew her.

The mother of two, was discovered dead in her Mallow, County Cork flat earlier this month.

Her funeral liturgy was held at St. John the Baptist Church in Kinsale  at 11 a.m. Her burial will take place at St. Patrick’s Cemetery in Nohoval.

On January 3rd, Ms. Canty’s body was discovered in an upper-story apartment on Bridewell Lane in Mallow.

Joseph Butler, 42, of Belfry, Bridewell Lane, Cork, was charged with Ms. Canty’s murder against common law when he appeared in Midleton District Court on Thursday, reports Breaking News.

Paula’s siblings Darragh, Donna, Latoya, David, and Rianna, as well as her mother Sinead and children Alyisha and Aoibhe, survive her.

Assistant State Pathologist Dr. Margaret Bolster conducted a postmortem examination at Cork University Hospital on January 4, reports Breaking News.

After the post mortem was finished, the case was elevated to murder.

In memory of her “beautiful” daughter Paula, Paula’s mother Sinead has established a memorial fund.

“The organisation I have chosen to be the beneficiary of the funds is Street Angels in Cork who provides a brilliant service to all those in need. Our beautiful, kind Paula has gained her wings this week. She was taken from us way too soon in a sudden and tragic way without any goodbyes. Paula was looking forward to a fresh, bright new year start with her loving family and with her good friends. The community, our family, relatives, neighbours, and a large circle of friends are just heartbroken. We ask if you wish to donate to Paula’s Memorial Fund please do so to “Street Angels” organisation in Cork, which is close to our hearts,” reports Breaking News.
