The madness of King Kelly: Row erupts after Environment Minister Alan Kelly does not get his own slot at radio debate

Alan Kelly’s delusions of grandeur and self worthiness seem to be getting the better of him, as he appears to be taking a diva-like attitude towards those surrounding him.

In the latest episode in the story of Alan Kelly’s landslide into oblivion, he allegedly stormed Newstalk’s mobile studio in Thurles yesterday, spewing demands as to why presenter Chris Donoghue had granted a prime time slot to Kelly’s arch-nemesis Michael Lowry instead of him.

According to witnesses, Mr. Kelly became irate over not being given a prime slot for himself and some strong language was used. He then took part in an on-air debate with independent TD Mattie McGrath and Fianna Fail candidate Michael Smith Jnr., where the usual finger pointing went on, and a shouting match ensued. The show’s host had to ask the participants to stop yelling at each other more than once.

A spokesman for the minister later denied that insults or bad language was used. According to the spokesperson, there was an “issue” and that they were “happy about how it was dealt with.”

Mr. Kelly is likely to lose his seat in the coming election over the calamitous introduction of Irish Water and the new bin charges that will kick in later this year.
