The public has been urged by Dublin City Council to leave ring buoys where they are, next to bodies of water, reports Breaking News.
In only one month, more than thirty ring buoys were either stolen or reported missing.
Not only do they pose a serious risk to public safety, but their removal also compromises the community’s emergency readiness, reports Breaking News.
The City Council would like to remind everyone that tampering with or stealing ring buoys is illegal, and anybody found doing so will face legal action from the gardaí.
Every week, more than 140 ring buoys are inspected by Dublin City Council’s five ring buoy inspectors, reports Breaking News.
