Dublin will see a 24 hour bus service in operation later this year it has been revealed.
Under new proposals announced this week, the capital will see a 24 hour service run on some routes by the end of 2019.
Although the service is to begin on the 41 route it is expected that other routes will avail of the service once further details are planned.
It is understood the 24 hour service will initially run on the 41 route which runs from Swords to Dublin city centre, via Dublin Airport.
The new service comes after trials in Cork have have proven successful.
The National Transport Authority and Dublin Bus are expected to provide further information in the coming weeks ahead.
