Top Irish medic says lockdown in Ireland could be in place for 18 months and could see up to ‘nine waves of the virus’

A top Irish medic has sent shockwaves throughout the country with her predictions of how coronavirus could possibly pan out in Ireland and just how lockdown restrictions will play out.

A leading medical expert has said that Ireland might be hit by ‘nine waves of the virus’ and that lockdown measures might have to be in place ‘for 18 months’ in the ‘worst-case scenario.’

The comments, made by Dr Rosalyn Moran, at King’s College London according to the Irish Mirror, suggest that Ireland still has a long way to go in its fight against Covid-19.

610 people have so far died from Covid-19-related causes here in Ireland.
