Some tragic news this morning, as an eight-year-old child has died in a farming accident in Co. Mayo.
The accident happened in a farm near Lismolin, Castlebar, Co. Mayo, yesterday evening.
It is understood the accident involved a tractor, but no specifics have been revealed.
Gardaí in Westport are investigating the incident and the Health and Safety Authority have been informed.
