Rescue services recovered a woman’s body from the water near the Cliffs of Moher, Co. Clare yesterday afternoon.
A group of hikers reportedly found a rucksack at the top of one of the cliffs, then spotted a body down in the water below.
A rescue boat was launched, and the woman’s body was soon brought ashore. It is understood that Gardai were able to identify the person after searching the abandoned rucksack.
Sources said the body belongs to a non-Irish national female in her 20s.
An investigation is underway as to what happened the woman which lead to this tragic outcome.
