Gardai in Co Cork have sadly confirmed that an elderly man aged in his 80s has died following a road traffic collision on Wednesday.
It is understood that the man was killed after the car he was travelling in collided with a ditch on the L4704 from Durrus to Kilcrohane, in Ahakista, Bantry, at approximately 5.55pm on Wednesday evening.
Gardai say the man’s body has been taken to Cork University Hospital where a post mortem examination will take place.
They added that an investigation into the incident is currently ongoing.
