
The body of a man in his 30s has been recovered off the coast of Co Galway after a vessel carrying three people capsized in the early hours of Saturday morning, reports Breaking News.
Gardaà and the Irish Coast Guard were alerted after the boat ran into difficulty north of St Macdara’s Island shortly before 3am, reports Breaking News.
Two of those on board managed to make their way safely ashore unharmed, while a search was launched for the third man.
Shortly before 8am, the body of the man, aged 30, was found along the shoreline and he was pronounced dead at the scene, reports Breaking News.
The coroner has been notified and the deceased has been taken to the mortuary at University Hospital Galway, where a post-mortem examination will be carried out.
The search and rescue response involved rescue helicopters from Shannon and Waterford, along with the Costello Bay and Cleggan Coast Guard Units and the Aran Island and Clifden RNLI lifeboats, reports Breaking News.
