A man in his 20s has died following a single-vehicle crash in County Laois, reports RTE.
The incident took place at Ballaghmore, near Borris-in-Ossory, at approximately 3.15am this morning.
The man, who was the sole occupant of the vehicle, was pronounced dead at the scene, reports RTE.
His remains were taken to Midland Regional Hospital in Portlaoise, where a post-mortem examination will be carried out.
The road was closed while garda forensic collision investigators conducted an examination.
Gardaí are asking any witnesses, especially those who may have camera footage—such as dashcam—from the area between 3am and 3.30am, to contact Portlaoise Garda Station on 057 8674100, the Garda Confidential Line at 1800 666 111, or any garda station, reports RTE.
