Two men named locally after sadly being killed in separate road crashes since Friday

Locally, two men who perished in different car accidents since Friday have been identified, reports Independent.

A man in his early 40s was killed on Friday morning at approximately 10 a.m. when his motorbike and a vehicle collided on the M50 northbound between Junctions 7 N4 Liffey Valley and Junction 6 N3 Castleknock.

At the scene, the motorcyclist’s driver was declared deceased. The truck driver was brought to the hospital for evaluation.

Derek Martin, 42, of the Dublin 11 neighbourhood, has been identified locally as the man who suffered fatal injuries, reports Independent.

There were significant traffic delays around the city as a result of the M50’s northbound lane being closed for a forensic investigation due to the circumstances of the deadly crash.

A 62-year-old man lost his life early on Saturday morning after the bicycle he was riding collided with a cab on Dublin’s Dame Street, reports Independent.

Around 5.25 a.m., the event occurred, and Dame Street was blocked in part to allow for a forensic investigation.

Following the crash, the rider suffered severe injuries and was sent to St. James’ Hospital, where he ultimately passed away.

The car’s driver received medical attention for non-life-threatening wounds, reports Independent.
