Gardai are said to be arming themselves with a heavy handed approach ahead of planned anti-lockdown protests that are going to take place in Dublin City Centre today.
Thousands of Gardai will be deployed to deal with anti-lockdown protests and house parties.
It is understood that up to 2,500 Gardai will be on duty on St. Patrick’s Day around the country.
There are multiple protest events reportedly planned for Dublin. Gardai will be mounting checkpoints around many routes in an attempt to intercept protest-goers and other people breaking the 5km limit.
