Uproar on social media as BBC DJ won’t play ‘Fairytale in New York’ as he doesn’t feel “comfortable” in doing so

There’s been absolute uproar on social media by fans of the legendary Christmas tune ‘Fairytale of New York’ after a DJ said he won’t play the classic.

BBC radio DJ Alex Dyke has said that he will not play the popular Christmas tune ‘Fairytale of New York’ on his station, as he ‘does not feel comfortable’ doing so.

57-year-old Mr. Dyke went as far as referring to the song as ‘nasty.’

The song does contain profanity and has caused controversy because of it before, as some people associate Christmas with a ‘happier’ attitude.
