The British Government have confirmed that Foreign Office Minister Mark Field has been suspended after he was filmed forcibly grabbing a climate change protester.
In an announcement made on Friday, a spokesperson for the British Prime Minister Theresa May confirmed that Field had been suspended from his duties.
They also say that the incident is concerning.
It is believed that the incident occurred during a black tie dinner event at London’s Mansion House on Thursday evening.
According to Sky News, Field was filmed grabbing thd female protester after she entered the room demanding action on climate change.
The disturbing footage show’s Field pushing the protester into a nearby pillar, before he grabs her by the back of the neck and pushes her out of the room.
Although Mr Field has since issued a full apology for his actions, the British government confirmed that an inquiry is to be held in regards to the matter.
