We want our Christmas holidays in Ukraine – Govt under pressure as Ukrainians are demanding to be allowed go home on holiday to Ukraine for Christmas

They’ve had enough with the government’s games – they want to go home for holidays at Christmas and keep their social welfare payments here in Ireland.

Many Ukrainians have voiced their anger online over the past number of days at the prospect that their social welfare of €220 per week may be cut and that they may have to pay something more towards their accommodation costs.

Add to that a row about whether they’re allowed go to Ukraine for holidays over Christmas and you have a mixture of a political disaster on your hands.

Some are demanding on social media that the Irish government allow them holiday in Ukraine – no exceptions, while others say they’ll say it to local politicians that they want to travel to Ukraine for holiday.

Either way, Ministers Helen McEntee and Heather Humphries have the making a big row on their hands.
