The White House announced that US President Joe Biden is not receiving treatment for Parkinson’s disease following a New York Times investigation that revealed visitor records indicating a physician with expertise in the condition came to the White House at least eight times between August and March, reports RTE.
Fears that Mr. Biden could be afflicted with an undiagnosed ailment have grown since he occasionally stammered, looked weak, and lost his line of thought during his June 27 debate with Republican Donald Trump.
Has Parkinson’s disease been treated for the president? No. Is Parkinson’s disease treating him? No, he isn’t. Does he use Parkinson’s medication? At a briefing, White House Press Secretary Karine Jean-Pierre said, “No,” reports RTE.
Democrats who believe Mr. Biden lacks the mental capacity to challenge Mr. Trump as their contender in the presidential election on November 5th are criticising the vice president.

Dr. Kevin Cannard, a neurologist and movement disorders expert at Walter Reed National Military Medical Centre, visited the White House eight times between last August and March of this year, according to a study of visitor records, reports RTE.
Research on early Parkinson’s disease therapy at Vanderbilt University Medical Centre has been co-authored by Dr. Cannard.
The records indicated that in mid-January, the expert visited with White House physician Dr. Kevin O’Connor in the White House, reports RTE.
The New York Post broke the story of Dr. Cannard’s trips to the White House on July 6.
Journalists were informed by a former White House staffer that Dr. Biden treated him for migraines in 2016 when he was both president and vice president under President Barack Obama.
When reporters repeatedly questioned Ms. Jean-Pierre at the press conference, she said that she wanted to protect everyone’s privacy for security concerns.
According to the press secretary for the White House, Mr. Biden saw a neurologist three times in connection with his yearly medical examination, reports RTE.
While she did not provide an explanation for Dr. Cannard’s presence in the White House, she did imply that it could have something to do with his treatment of some of the military people stationed there.
“There are thousands of military personnel that come to the White House and they are under the care of the medical unit,” Jean-Pierre stated, reports RTE.
