Irish MMA fighter Conor McGregor is never far away from the news headlines and the stories often revolve around what he gets up to in Las Vegas. While he has a luxurious Irish home in Straffan, Co Kildare and a holiday home in Marbella in Spain, he’s most often seen in Las Vegas.
So, what is it that attracts him to this city in the Nevada desert?

Many of McGregor’s UFC fights are held in the city of Las Vegas. In fact, the latest rumours suggest the Irish fighter will be taking part in UFC 296 at the city’s T-Mobile Arena in December this year.
UFC 300 is set to be a huge event in 2024, with the organisers already being forced to deny that the much-anticipated Mark Zuckerberg and Elon Musk fight will take place on this occasion. It could be ideal for McGregor’s return to the sport and it would also be his first bout since he lost to Dustin Poirier at UFC 264 in Las Vegas.
McGregor also supports fights in Ireland and has sponsored events in the past, but Las Vegas is the global base for this sport.
His Love of Casino Games and Luxury Cars
Although he is often in the city for professional reasons, McGregor has made it clear that he loves Las Vegas for other reasons, too. Earlier this year, he was seen at UFC 285 with partner Dee Devlin and posted images in which he was sitting in a spectacular Lamborghini on Instagram, which he captioned as “my Las Vegas compound.”
Conor has also been seen enjoying the city’s famous casinos, calling it “one of life’s pleasures”. While he was spotted playing roulette earlier in 2023, it hasn’t been confirmed whether he’s enjoyed the same luck at the casino tables as in the Octagon. Interestingly, when we look at the top six slot machine wins in history, they’ve all occurred in Las Vegas and were for over $20 million each. The Megabucks slot was involved in all these wins, but the Irish fighter hasn’t confirmed whether he’s ever tried to win this progressive jackpot slot.
Does He Live There Now?
Back in 2015, Conor revealed images of a plush residence where he was living in Las Vegas, which fans quickly dubbed the Mac Mansion. This 12,000 square-foot property with a 50-foot infinity and massive garage for multiple cars was close enough to the Vegas strip to make it extremely convenient as his base in the city.
However, it’s since been confirmed that he rented this place rather than owning it. The house was then sold in 2017 and McGregor doesn’t seem to have bought or rented anywhere else. He’s now said to stay in penthouse suites in one of the city’s top hotels whenever he’s in Las Vegas.
As we can see., there are several reasons why Conor McGregor visits Las Vegas, with the main one being that many UFC events are held here. However, his social media posts from the city suggest that he genuinely likes spending time here and doesn’t see it simply as a place to go to work.
