Woman manages to secure court order directing her brother to return elderly mother to nursing home

A lady has obtained a High Court judgement mandating her brother to bring their ailing and defenceless mother back to the assisted living facility where she has been staying right away, reports Breaking News.

The lady told Mr. Justice Mark Sanfey at the High Court on Thursday that she had severe worries that her sister is attempting to influence and manipulate their mother. As a result, the judge granted the woman a number of directions.

Formal power of attorney over their mother has been given to the lady, who alleges that their brother took their mother illegally out of the nursing facility where she had been living for a few weeks, reports Breaking News.

The daughter alleges that her brother took “an element of force” to get their mother out of the institution.

Additionally, it is alleged that the plaintiff’s brother has made an attempt to access their mother’s funds and is attempting to acquire entrance to their mother’s house by giving a locksmith instructions to replace the property’s locks.

The court stated that after reviewing the application, he was satisfied enough to issue orders telling the plaintiff’s brother to bring their mother back to the nursing home and prohibiting him from taking her out of it or any other place where she is a resident, reports Breaking News.

The defendant is also prohibited by the orders from meddling with his mother’s continued care and medical attention.

The orders, which are in effect until the court issues additional orders, were given ex parte, meaning that only one party was represented in court, reports Breaking News.
