
Last week, a female pedestrian died after suffering severe injuries in a car accident in County Kilkenny, reports The Mirror.
Shortly before 9 p.m. on Friday, March 28, the woman, who is in her 30s, was hit by a car on the N76 at Westcourt Demesne in Callan.
After being taken from the scene of the crash to St. Luke’s Hospital in Kilkenny, where she died earlier today, the woman suffered severe injuries, reports The Mirror.
The car’s driver was unharmed in the collision.
Drivers were given minor detours as the route was blocked overnight for a technical inspection by Garda Forensic Collision Investigators, reports The Mirror.
The Gardaà have repeated their need for assistance and are still investigating the event.
In a statement, a Garda spokesperson said: “Gardaà are renewing an appeal for witnesses following a serious road traffic collision which occurred on the N76 at Westcourt Demesne, Callan, Co. Kilkenny on Friday, 28th March 2025. Gardaà and emergency services attended the scene of the collision, involving a car and a pedestrian, which occurred shortly before 9pm. The female pedestrian, aged in her 30s, who was brought to St Luke’s Hospital, Kilkenny, to be treated for serious injuries, was pronounced deceased earlier today, Monday 31st March, 2025. Investigating Gardaà continue to appeal for witnesses to come forward,” reports The Mirror.
