Nigel Farage has condemned fellow UK MEP Judith Bunting as a “patronising stuck up snob” after she claimed that British citizens who voted to leave the EU “didn’t know what they voted for”.
The Liberal Democrat MEP went on to say that Leave voters were misled and then asked Nigel Farage why he stood in front of posters that had nothing to do with the EU.
Farage hit back saying that voters had chosen to leave the EU because of “people like you lying to them” referring to Ms Bunting and went on to say there her party had betrayed the largest democratic vote in British history.
Following this, arch Europhile MEP, Guy Verhofstadt, said that the British citizens who voted to leave the EU were the “real traitors” for endangering their country’s economy.
Verhofstadt recently spoke at the Lib Dem national conference in the UK where he was met with rapturous applause and a standing ovation when he proclaimed that the nation-state would cease to exist in the future and that the EU must become an empire like Russia, China and the US.
