Young girl attacked by migrant in Parnell Square attack visits home in ’emotional’ step

In an update, the family of a little girl who was seriously hurt in an assault in Dublin’s Parnell Square last year said that their infant had made her room visit for the first time since the attack, reports The Mirror.

The five-year-old girl was reportedly stabbed on November 23, 2018, during the horrifying Parnell Square incident that left two other kids and care attendant Leanne Flynn Keogh hospitalised. She was left battling for her life in the hospital.

Before Christmas, the ‘angel fighter’ was released from Temple Street Children’s Hospital and started his rehabilitation, reports The Mirror.

Barróg do Chailín Beag, or a Hug For A Little Girl, was created as a fundraising for the little girl. As contributions to the fundraiser come in, her family informs the public on her condition.

According to the most recent update, the little girl’s family reported that their kid was allowed to remain in her room after returning home for a visit for the first time since November.

The GoFundMe page has an update that stated, “We got to bring our baby home for a visit.” She was in her room for the first time since November, reports The Mirror.

The visit was “very emotional” since it was a “big step” towards getting her back home permanently.

They went on, “We were able to move to an adapted home.” Thus, it was also her first time seeing her new home and community. It was an emotional yet significant step towards bringing her home permanently. She did not let us down either. What a fighter,” reports The Mirror.
