We all know that today, Christmas day, is a time of celebration that usually sees families come together as one, but for some the festive holiday can be a time of reflection especially when it comes to those they sadly lost this year.
Over the past year The Liberal has been reporting some major stories that we hoped you enjoyed.
However, some of our stories have been sadly more heartbreaking in nature as many have tragically lost their lives due to unforseen circumstances.
In a year that has seen the world been subjected to acts of violence and terrorism we would like to publish the following prayer to honour those who have sadly passed away.
We would also like to pay tribute to the families of those who also tragically lost loved ones in accidental and natural circumstances.
The prayer reads as follows:
In your hands, O Lord,
we humbly entrust our brothers and sisters.
In this life you embraced them with your tender love;
deliver them now from every evil
and bid them eternal rest.
The old order has passed away:
welcome them into paradise,
where there will be no sorrow, no weeping or pain,
but fullness of peace and joy
with your Son and the Holy Spirit
forever and ever.
The Liberal would like to wish all our readers a very Merry Christmas and a Happy New year, and we offer our deepest condolences to families and friends who tragically lost someone they loved in 2018.
