Well known Boyers department store will cease trading today, after more than 100 years in business. 83 jobs will be lost as a result of the closure.
Boyers is the second department store to close down in less than a year on North Earl St. in Dublin. Clerys, located a mere few steps away, closed in June, with the loss of 460 jobs.
Boyers staff were advised last September of the store’s impending closure. Banners were hung outside the shop’s windows this week, saying “After more than 100 years we’re saying goodbye and thank you.”
