Motorists have been advised to take extra care overnight and tomorrow morning as Storm Hector’s very strong winds grip the country.
Winds of up to 130klm are battering the east coast of Ireland having made their way across land from the west.
Motorists are advised to stay off the roads where possible until the storm conditions pass.
Airplanes are flying low in an effort to avoid the weather’s turbulance.
Met Eireann will update on the situation later this morning.
The storm is heading cross-country and will be in the UK tonight and tomorrow.
